Greetings from Guatemala!

Well, our trip has finally begun. We arrived in Guatemala City early afternoon, on the 24th of March. We being Melissa, Lindsay and Josh. We were met at the airport by our dear friend Marissa, who has been living in Guatemala for a little over a year and a half now. Here's a few pictures of our first hostel, La Coperacha:

This hostel had a communal kitchen so we headed to el mercado central and bought some food. The produce here is amazing and bountiful. The best part? Besides being ridiculously cheap, there's no worry in searching for stickers reading "organic" or letting you know whether or not it's locally grown. Everything here is extremely fresh and grown within miles of any market. Above is the dining room and a beautiful mural depicting much of the culture and history of Guatemala.
